John Dubray – "One Spirit" www.nativeprogress.org
The ONE Spirit Mission is to assist the Lakota people in preserving and revitalizing the Lakota culture, language, and self-sufficiency while meeting the basic needs of Lakota families, children, and elders. We strive to cultivate an intercultural relationship that recognizes that we are all related and that American Indians are an equal and valued part of our society.
Pass Creek Annual Wacipi
An annual powwow held in Allen. This powwow, like all others, involves singing, dancing, and a positive social setting to visit relatives and enjoy the music and dance. All ages participate.
Sundance
There are numerous Sundance’s within the Pass Creek District, all which involve a lot of youth and people. Sundance’s provide a positive place to learn, pray, and help each other.
Negative
There are very limited miles of paved roads especially leading into the Allen area.
Need to protect historic site, Charging Crow Dam and the old CCC Dam at Yellow Bear
Roads are in terrible condition – need maintenance
Nearest clinic is 20 miles away – Kyle Clinic (not open on weekends)
No fire department

Hello oyas from Jason and Mary Salway we hope and pray that the one spirit program will be a victory for many of our lakota familys and friends. Our heartfelt gratitude to all of our community leaders who are willing to be examples to our youth and lead the way to a brighter future for our children and solidify the values of our elders. Have fun Jason and Mary.
