EPA’s Sustainable and Healthy Communities Research Program (SHCRP) is currently asking for ideas on sustainability projects in Indian Country affecting tribes and indigenous peoples with a FOCUS on projects at the community and regional scales, and that consider the physical and biological environment, human health, land stewardship, and environmental justice… not unlike what the OYATE OMNICIYE | Oglala Lakota Plan is aiming to do!

EPA-SHCRP’s goal is to develop solutions to environmental problems that are ecologically, economically, and socially sustainable over many generations. Their approach is transdisciplinary and depends on innovation and systems thinking in order to avoid unintended consequences.

PLEASE TAKE A LOOK - OTHERWISE YOUR KIDS OR GRANDKIDS MIGHT BE ASKING YOU IN A FEW YEARS WHY NOT?

First round of ideas + voting ends APRIL 21, 2011.
